Bankruptcy Process in Virginia

Helping people through bankruptcy in Virginia

You’re probably wondering about the bankruptcy process.  Let me tell you how it works here in Northern Virginia.

It’s harder than doing your taxes–that’s why you need a lawyer.  But it’s easier, for example, than getting a divorce, if there are children.

Your actual bankruptcy hearing will typically take less than four minutes.  There’s no reason for it to be scary.

Here is  a short video where I take you through the steps.  In this video you’ll find out…

  • How does the bankruptcy process works in Northern Virginia?
  • What kind of paperwork do you have to submit?
  • How long does it take?

We also have a slide show that explains the bankruptcy process in Northern Virignia in a little more detail.  If you have Microsoft Powerpoint, you can download it here.

If you don’t have Powerpoint you can download a FREE viewer from Microsoft or, alternatively, you can view it in PDF format by clicking on the link below (When you click, give it a few seconds; it takes a while to load or right-click and save it to your computer.)

When we meet in person, we’ll look together at your credit report.    You might want to get a head start and look at yours now.

I especially like the free credit report that you can get from Experian. Copy these words and paste them into your search engine.            experian.com/reportaccess.

This particular credit report is the one I use when I talk to people about bankruptcy.  It has a lot more information than most other credit reports have.  The small print is also bigger than the small print on most credit reports.  That makes it easier to read.  Other credit reports–including other credit reports that say Experian–are not as good.

(It’s free if you have been turned down for credit in the last 60 days. Most people have been. If you don’t know who turned you down, answer Law Office of Robert Weed. That usually works.)

Are you ready to get started?  Go to the consultation tab here on my website.

I look forward to meeting with you in person.  I’ll answer all your questions. You’ll get started on the “new opportunity in life” that the bankruptcy law promises you.
