What Do Lawyers Charge for Chapter 13 in Northern Virginia?

The lawyer fees in Chapter 13 are price controlled by the bankruptcy judges. In January 2026, they set the fee at $6817.

My law firm charges half up front, and the rest out of the Chapter 13 payment you make to the court.

So up front, $3410, in payments of $700, $1000, and $1710. Then $3407 from your Chapter 13 payments–that works out to average $65 a month over a five year Chapter 13.
